My Background

At the age of 11, I took my first photograph --- the George Washington Monument

in Washington Square Park in NYC, Greenwich Village. My godmother had just given me a Brownie camera and

a print developing kit. I never looked back. I n 1970, I photographed my first wedding,

and continued through 2000. In the mid 1970s I found out that my father had been a

midshipman at the Naval Academy, Class of 1939. That is the "why" of what I do.

During the 1980s I was President and Chairman of the Board of the MD Professional

Photographers' Association and won awards state-wide and nationally. And in 1980 I had an idea----

film Plebe Summer for Plebe parents. Again, never looked back. The forty three

years of filming Plebe Summer has provided me with the knowledge and experience that is so essential.
